TEAM NEWS
Happy Easter one and all, we hope you've had an enjoyable extended weekend. Blyth Spartans have enjoyed their Easter so far and will be looking to round off a great few days as we welcome title chasing Workington to Croft Park. Last month, the reverse fixture saw Blyth go 2-0 down over in Cumbria and revenge will be on the minds of the players and staff. Saturday saw a good 1-0 away win at Stamford and the players will be looking to carry the confidence they showed there back home, in front of what is expected to be a larger than average crowd.
Matthew Wade made an instant return to the starting 11 in Lincolnshire but Tom Wade has commented that he may miss for the tie against Workington and Neal Hooks could take his place. Dan Maguire scored what the winner after reacting the quickest following a goalkeeper fumble on Saturday, showing his sharpness after his stint out with injury. He will be looking to continue his recovery and return to form with a solid performance in front of his home fans.
This is the biggest tie in the league on Monday and one which Blyth would love to win but we know Workington are no push over and like us play good football when on a good pitch. The players will need to be at their best as they wrap up the bank holiday weekend.
IN THE AWAY DUG OUT
Derek Townsley - Took charge of the club for the start of the season and has seen his team just over Spartans' shoulder most of the season.
DANGER MAN
Scott Allison - The striker has hit good form this month, scoring five goals in as many league games.
