TEAM NEWS

Spartans travel to Gainsborough Trinity on Tuesday evening buoyed by the display - and the result - against Tamworth on Saturday.

Blyth recorded a 4-2 victory over the Lambs - as they recovered from falling behind to a Reece Styche effort. Ryan Hutchinson pulled Blyth level, before Dan Maguire and Jarrett Rivers put them in control. Styche pulled a goal back from the penalty spot, before Blyth restored their two goal lead with Hopson's penalty.

Our hosts on Tuesday evening suffered defeat in their opening two games as well, going down to Leamington on the opening day of the season. This was followed up by a defeat by the odd goal in seven at Darlington. However, Trinity opened their account on Saturday with an impressive victory over Nuneaton, where the only goal of the game came from Michael Jacklin.

Both sides will be looking to pick up their second set of points of the season in this eagerly anticipated clash.
