Matchwinner Hutch hails Spartans win
Saturday, 30 August 2014
After firing home his first Spartan goal to seal an impressive win at Halesowen Town midfielder Ryan Hutchinson hailed the performance of his team mates. Tom Wade's side were met by a direct Yeltz side but the youngster was proud of the way his side stood up to the challenge.
"It was a tough game today as they were very direct and a lot of long balls and throws were sent our way. We did very well to get the win because we have had games like this when we have drawn or even lost so to get the win is a good feeling for the lads"
Hutchinson's eighty fourth minute goal meant that Spartans reacted in the best possible way to the home sides' equaliser just two minutes earlier. Whilst the former Seaton Delaval man was happy to have got on the score sheet he preferred to focus on the achievements of the team rather than himself.
"I was delighted to score and hopefully it will be the first of many for Blyth Spartans. I wasn't really thinking as it fell to me, I just hit it but it was a nice feeling to see it go in. The goal is great but what's more important is the win and I am happy to see us get that"
The win over the newly promoted Midlands outfit sets Spartans up nicely for a big week ahead as they face a home double header. Tuesday night brings FC United of Manchester to Croft Park before Saturday's Non-League Day fixture with Buxton and Hutchinson hopes his side can capitalise on their home form.
"Hopefully we can carry on our form from today on Tuesday against FC United. Its a tough game but we want to keep our home form up from last season and that starts on Tuesday, then we will try and carry that on to Saturday"
