Blyth Spartans have received a further boost to their squad with the news that midfield duo Neal Hooks and Paul Robinson have committed to the club for the new campaign. The pair provided experience in the Spartans engine room last season as the club finished in eighth position in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League and both players are already looking to improve on that performance.
Robinson, who joined the club from Darlington 1883 last season revealed his delight at agreeing to spend a first full season at Croft Park. He said "There was never any doubt in my mind, I knew I wanted to be here next season. Last season was a positive one for the club and it is a great club to be at. We have a brilliant set of lads in the dressing room and we will be looking to kick on from last season and progressing on what we achieved, I can't wait to be part of that"
Those thoughts were echoed by Hooks, who agreed to a sixth season at the club. The former Ross County man said "I'm very pleased to have signed for another season. I never had any intention of leaving and I am looking forward to what I hope will be a successful season for the club pushing for promotion"
