Blyth Spartans midfielders Neal Hooks and Matthew Wade have agreed to sign new deals with the club for the new season.

For Hooks the new deal will take him into the fourth season of his second spell with the club and his seventh in total. The former Ilkeston Town player will also be certain to pass the 250 appearance mark for Spartans during the new campaign.

After agreeing his stay Hooks revealed that he never considered a move elsewhere.

"I'm delighted to be resigning for Blyth, there was no doubt in my mind that I would be signing anywhere else. It's an exciting time to be a part of the club and hopefully we can build upon last years success"

Fellow midfielder Wade will be staying with the club for a third season and should notch up a century of appearances in the green and white. The twenty three year old admitted that he was already targeting promotion after last season's success.

"I am delighted to be staying at the club for another season. I love playing for Blyth Spartans, it's my hometown club and I think we can build on what we achieved last season and get promotion"
