New Signing | Michael Liddle

The club is very pleased to announce the signing of left back Michael Liddle.
The 26-year-old spent the final couple of months last season with Dunston after having sustained an injury earlier in the campaign with Hibernian.
Michael started his career with Sunderland and spent three seasons with Accrington Stanley in League 2. He has also had loan spells with Carlisle, Leyton Orient and Gateshead. He is also a Republic of Ireland U21 international having made five appearances for them.
He has interesting connections with Blyth having played alongside Michael Richardson while the latter was on trial at Accrington. Michael also played with Jordan Watson at Sunderland and now, ironically, takes over from Watson in the left back position at the Spartans.
"I'm really excited about joining Blyth," said Michael. "It's a great club, well known, playing at a good level, and aspirations are high," said Michael.
Manager Tom Wade commented; "It's a real boost for us getting a player of Michael's quality. He has a fantastic pedigree and I'm sure he will do really well for us."
