News | Connor Thomson signs new contract

Tuesday, 4 May 2021

Blyth Spartans AFC is delighted to announce Connor Thomson has signed a new contract, keeping him at Croft Park for the 2021/22 season.

The former Blackburn Rovers forward joined Blyth last summer and quickly established himself as a key member of Michael Nelson's squad.

Thomson, 25, featured 13 times before the National League North season was made null and void in February.

On signing his contract, Thomson said: "I'm very happy.

"Once the gaffer got in touch and said he wanted to renew my contract, my first thought was when can I sign.

"I've felt some games I've shown what I can do but some games I felt I just held myself back.

"I'm really focused on trying to show what I can do - scoring goals and creating chances."

Michael Nelson, manager of Blyth Spartans, said: "Thompa showed some real positive signs at times last season.

"We feel he can build on that this year and show them more consistently."
