Non-League Day today
Friday, 5 September 2014
It's Non-League Day 2014 and the club can confirm that further items have been added to our events as we welcome Buxton to Croft Park. A full run down can be found below:
Kick it Out campaign
As we have been chosen to take part is their "Season of Action" the Kick it Out organisation will be represented by Kevin Miles. Supporters will see the Spartans players warming up wearing Kick it Out t-shirts to support their work and there will be hand outs from the organisation available.
Two very special mascots
Two of the most familiar and popular faces around Croft Park will be leading the Spartans team out alongside captain Robbie Dale. In recognition of a year of unwavering bravery and remarkable achievements the club are delighted that Cory Davison and Callum Brown will be amongst the mascots for the game.
Green and White Day
We want Croft Park to be covered in the famous Green and White tomorrow and invite all Spartans supporters to help us. We want flags, scarves and banners to make the place a celebration of non-league and of course Blyth Spartans. We would also invite Buxton fans to bring flags and wear their colours.
In order to make maximum impact we ask that supporters start putting any banners or flags up an hour before kick off.
Blyth Spartans Juniors
Half time entertainment will be provided by Blyth Spartans Juniors Under 12s as they take to the Croft Park pitch to play a small sided match. Get right behind them and hopefully we will see some future Spartans in action.
John Hague Non-League Day photos
Coventry Spartan John Hague is making the long trip up from the Midlands for the fixture and will be producing a photographic story of the day from the kits being put out and the nets going up to supporters going back into the Clubhouse to sup those all important post-match pints.
Sponsor Lounge ticket winners
The club will entertain the winners of Tuesday night's prize raffle as they take their place in our Sponsors Lounge and watch the game from the Directors Area of the Port of Blyth Stand.
Scott Bell Fund auction presentation
As you will know the club have made two remarkable pieces of memorabilia available via eBay in the last week. A signed Lionel Messi Barcelona shirt and a signed Peter Beardsley Newcastle United shirt were up for grabs and we are delighted to say that both have sold so we can make an excellent donation to the Scott Bell Fund.
The amount will be announced tomorrow prior to kick off when the winning bidder for the Messi shirt will be presented with their prize.
NEW ADDITION: Quantum Elite takes on the Ice Bucket Challenge
At 2.15pm in front of the Quantum Elite Stand Brian and Lissa Delf will take on the Ice Bucket Challenge and have pledged to match any donations made with the money going to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
NEW ADDITION: YouTube Spartans in the Clubhouse
As Non-League Day is to celebrate the game at this level and the club itself we have put together a YouTube playlist showing the best moments from our past and present. So whether it's reliving the glory days as Spartans embarrassed the likes of Stoke City and Bournemouth or the more modern day achievements like Dan Maguire's first hat-trick for the club against Stafford Rangers you can see a compilation of just what makes Spartans special.
We look forward to welcoming new and old Spartans supporters as well as our visitors from Buxton and celebrating everything that is great about Non-League Football.
