In a regular feature every Friday throughout the close season we look at the individual performances of members of the Spartans squad during the 2013/14 season. Players stats, notable acheivements and a comprehensive review of their performance can be found. Next up is midfielder Paul Robinson

Since joining from Darlington in October midfielder Paul Robinson has managed to achieve some notable statistics in his maiden season at Croft Park.

Making his debut as Spartans exited the Doodson Sports Cup at the first hurdle against his former club, Robinson had to wait just five days to score his first goal for the club on his home debut. Rushall Olympic were the opposition and the scores were level going into the last five minutes. Spartans were down to ten men after the dismissal of Arran Wearmouth but Robinson collected a ball from Dan Maguire and cut inside on the right foot before unleashing a piledriver into the top right hand corner to win the game.

He went on to score two more goals for Spartans during the season. He scored the club's first goal of 2014 in the comprehensive 3-0 win over Stocksbridge Park Steels at a soaking wet Croft Park on New Years Day. Robinson also score the club's last goal of the season with a late winner to beat Stamford AFC on the last day of the season.

The midfielder has some impressive stats when it comes to assists. He boasts an impressive average of an assist every four games, a stat only bettered by Robbie Dale and Danny Maguire and narrowly ahead of winger Arran Wearmouth. Dale is the main benificiary of Robinson's work, being on the end of three of his seven assists.
