Team News

There are some injury concerns amongst the squad, as both Michael Liddle and Robbie Dale made early exits against Darlington.

Opposition

A win would see the Spartans leapfrog 18th placed Chester in the league table. Chester have earned 28 points in 30 games so far this season.

They have only managed one away win so far this season, on their trip to Telford on Boxing Day. The Seals travel to Blyth having won zero points in their last five games.

What We're Saying

Spealing after the loss to Darlington, Spartans manager Terry Mitchell said: "Without the ball we're pleased. Obviously, we've conceded the one goal, but in general our all-round play out of possession (was good). We knew they were going to be strong in wide areas. We've worked on it, we got out wide and defended well. Delighted with that, apart from the goal, obviously."

What They're Saying

Chester manager Steve Watson, after his sides loss to Chorley, said: "We have to believe, and I do believe, that we can go to Blyth and win next week. That's all we can think about now."

Last Time We Met

In the reverse fixture this season, Chester came out as 5-1 victors. An early J.J. O'Donnell goal was not enough after a second half rout by Chester.

The last time the sides faced at Croft Park ended up in a 2-2 draw in 2019.

Having lost three and drawing one, Blyth have only won one of their last five league fixtures with Chester (losing three), an 8-1 smashing at Croft Park in 2018.
