What We're Saying

After a 2-0 defeat to Spennymoor Town, Jon Shaw said: "Yeah, it's disappointing.

"For 44 minutes in the first half, I thought we were excellent, bearing in mind the team that we had to put out there.

"We have had a good week of training and then literally this morning we've had a phone call from two of the starting lineup saying that they were ill, which changes a lot of your plans in the shape and the personnel."

Opposition

The Celt Army currently sit two places below Blyth in 15th, with just one point separating the two sides in the National League North.

In their last outing, Farsley Celtic suffered a 2-1 defeat to Chester, which has left the West Yorkshire-based team with just one win in their last five matches.

What They're Saying

Following their defeat to Chetser, Tom Morgan said: "Really disappointed, we're all absolutely gutted in there.

"We started so well and we've just been undone by two set pieces, which you look back at and we've got to reduce them."

Last Time We Met

In September, the Spartans ran wild over Farsley, winning 4-0 at Croft Park. Cedric Main opened the scoring after 10 minutes, then Will McGowan scored a seven-minute brace before Michel Liddle topped it off with a fourth goal after 54 minutes.

At The Citadel last season, Jordan Hickey's second-half double helped secure Blyth a 2-0 victory on the road in April which was a key victory for the Spartans in their bout for safety last season.
