THE OPPOSITION
With their Northern League season kicking off in just under a fortnight, The Robins are well into their pre-season schedule.
After defeat in their opening game against Berwick Rangers, they've notched five straight wins, the most recent being a 4-1 win away at Bridlington Town.
WHAT WE'RE SAYING
Speaking after Saturday's win over Boro game, Nelson told BSAFCTV: "It's always nice to win games regardless of whether they're friendlies or competitive games.
"It was important to get some minutes into the lads and get that match day feeling into them."
"We're trying to get them to be aggressive and play high without us being too open at the back. I think the second goal showed that.
"I was pleased with the lads who came on as well, I feel they gave a very good account of themselves."
Hickey added: "That's our first game, it gets the rustiness out of everyone.
"Hopefully we can go into Wednesday a little bit sharper, and we can start how we did today and continue that throughout the game."
THE LAST TIME WE MET
Spartans last visited North Shields in a pre-season clash in July 2019 and emerged as 3-0 winners.
Dale Pearson scored twice with Scott Fenwick also getting on the scoresheet.
