Manager Alun Armstrong has sent out a rally cry to the Spartans faithful ahead of a trio of home games over the next 10 days.

Croft Park hosts the visits of Boston United, Chorley and Shaw Lane Association in the coming days, and Armstrong is hoping for a series of big crowds to support his side.

"We need the fans to get behind the lads, no matter what."

"So far they have done - but the home results haven't been great, we know that. But apart from the game against North Ferriby United the performances have been decent - we're building and getting better every game."

In stark contrast to the sides home form, away from the North East Spartans have picked up 12 points from a possible 15 - including four consecutive away wins in the Vanarama National League North for the first time.

And the 42-year-old believes the fans can be the "12

th

man" that help turn Spartans home fortunes around:

"If you look at our performance away from home, we've been really good, and I think it's because the pressure is off us a little bit. I thought it would have been the opposite way around.

"Last season we loved it at home - winning week in, week out - but this year it's going to be much more of a rollercoaster, and our fans will have to be a bit patient sometimes."

With three home games in eight days coming up, Armstrong wants the fans to turn out in force to help boost the club's fortunes in more ways than one:

"We need the fans giving the lads as much support as possible. We know it's going to be a tall order to compete with some teams in the league - we don't have the budget others do - but we are going to do our upmost to try and get up there.

"Fans through the gates not only adds to the matchday atmosphere, that money goes straight into the playing budget so we have the flexibility to bring in players should we need to during the season."

Despite the club's indifferent home results, Spartans sit 6

th

in the National League North table in a play-off spot, and Armstrong believes it's the fans who hold the key to push the club forward.

"These players deserve to play in front of huge crowds after the work they put it last year, and I believe the Blyth supporters can deliver that over the next 10 days."
