Reserve Match Images| Blyth Spartan Reserves 3-1 Wallsend Boys Club
Sunday, 2 December 2018
At a wet and soggy Croft Park, Blyth Spartans Reserves climbed up to 4th place with a battling win over Wallsend Boys Club; who were far better than their league position of 3rd bottom would have suggested. It was end to end football in poor conditions, which saw the young Spartans finally break the stubborn Wallsend defence with five minutes of the half remaining.
The second half saw Blyth add two more quick goals (including a penalty) as Wallsend seemed very slow to restart. As the half progressed Wallsend came back into the game very strong and pulled back a consolation from a Blyth defensive mix up. With time for Wallsend to possibly get something from the game, it was an end to end battle of two determined sides. The Spartans however, held on for all three points.
