Result takes priority over achievement for Dale

Match winner Robbie Dale insisted that it was the win against Frickley Athletic that was more important despite the forward celebrating his three hundred and fiftieth appearance for the goal with a wonder strike. Dale struck three minutes from time after bamboozling four Athletic defenders but he was quick to pass on any praise to the defence.
"It was definitely up there in my top three and more importantly it has given us a great three points here. I have to say I thought Conor(Grant) and the back four were outstanding tonight and if we can get that clean sheet we are always going to get a goal"
One of the most impressive factors of Spartans start to the season has been the amount of chances the side are creating and tonight was no different. Only some unfortunate finishing and a good performance from the home side's keeper Tom Woodhead meant Spartans had to rely on Dale's late strike to take all three points from Westfield Lane but Dale was happy to see his side look so adventurous going forward.
"Damen Mullen has had four good chances, Nipa(Dan Maguire) has hit the post and we have had a load of chances. On another day we could have scored three or four but we got the win and that's all that matter. You can see there wont be many games when we don't score"
All attention now turns to Saturday as Grantham Town make the trip to Croft Park on Non-League Day and Dale urged the Green Army to get behind his side and help the club make their home ground a fortress throughout the rest of the campaign.
"Hopefully we can get a step up in the crowd and they'll see the performance tonight and know we are working hard for them. We need them behind us and we need as many of them there, Croft Park has to be a fortress because it is massive for us"
