Rob Dale Signs On For Another Season
Thursday, 9 June 2011
Blyth Spartans are delighted to announce that talismanic, crowd favourite Rob Dale has signed on for another season at Croft Park.
The 26-year-old, who recently tied the knot with Spartans physiotherapist Susan Coates and only returned from his honeymoon yesterday evening, has been at the Spartans for seven years and is closing in on two milestones, with his 300th appearance and 100th goal for the club, both very distinct possibilities at some point in the upcoming season.
Management duo Cuggy and Fell had spoke to Rob prior to him leaving for his wedding. With both parties keen to rubber stamp the deal, as soon as possible and with manager Steve Cuggy currently enjoying a short holiday, it was left to Assistant Manager Gavin Fell to complete the formalities of the registration.
"We see Rob as key to our plans" commented Fell "we know how dangerous he can be, when on form in both creating and scoring goals and are delighted that he's put pen to paper on a new deal."
"With the signings of Wayne Phillips, Chrissy Emms and Graeme Armstrong we hope to bring the best of Rob and that he can bring the best out of them"
Rob was also delighted to be staying at Croft Park "I'm pleased to get things sorted, the two new lads in charge have impressed me so far and have some interesting ideas, so I can't wait for the season to get going."
"I'm obviously really happy at Blyth, so I had no hesitation in signing up for another season."
