Robert Dale - 200 Appearances
Tuesday, 24 March 2009
In the most bizarre of circumstances talismanic striker Robert Dale has tonight chalked up his 200th appearance for the Spartans by coming on as a second half substitute for the injured Mark Bell to play in goal!
Signed from Ryton, the languid forward, made his debut in the Unibond Premier Division clash with Wakefield Emley on 15 March 2005 where he scored a debut hattrick. Even better was to follow the following season as he swept all before him to become the leading scorer in England, as well as firing the Spartans to the title and into the Conference North.
In his 200 games Dale has scored an impressive 79 goals for the club as well as entertain the Croft Park faithful will his mazy runs and expansive passing (let's hope is handling is as impressive!)
Well done Rob!
