Second signing completed as Reid joins Spartans

Blyth Spartans have completed the signing of Sean Reid from EBAC Northern League club West Allotment Celtic.
Manager Tom Wade watched as Reid put pen to paper at Croft Park to become his second summer signing after the return of Paul Robinson from Whitley Bay.
The Spartans boss revealed that it was a case of second time lucky when it came to signing Reid, who spent time in the youth setup at Newcastle United and Barnsley earlier in his career.
"We wanted Sean in February and we made an approach but be stayed loyal to his club and that says a lot about him. But we have him at Spartans now and I am very excited to see him play for us"
And Wade backed Reid to become a crowd favourite amongst the Green Army.
"He's a big, strong lad, he's six foot four, and he is a wholehearted player. Whenever I have seen him play he's always stood out and I believe we have one of the best young players from the Northern League. The fans will take to him very quickly and I think they'll love him"
Reid is able to play in a number of positions down the middle of the pitch. After starting his career as a centre back he moved on to play as a striker and in midfield during his time with Celtic and his former club Ryton and Crawcrook Albion, something Wade admits is a bonus.
"Sean is versatile, we know that and both myself and Lee (Picton) have an idea of where we want to use him but that doesn't mean we won't use him elsewhere"
Reaction from Sean will be online over the coming days
