Signing | Nathan Buddle commits for 2016/17

The club is very pleased to announce that centre-back Nathan Buddle has re-signed for the Spartans ahead of next season.
The former Hartlepool, Carlisle United and Gateshead player made his debut for Blyth in August 2013 and has gone on to play over a hundred games for the club, scoring eight goals in the process.
22-year-old Nathan said: "I'm delighted to have signed up for Blyth again and very happy it's now finalised."
Asked if he was over last season's disappointment in terms of missing out on promotion he commented: "No, not really. I don't think any of us are, but that will just make us hungrier to get there next time around. We really want that success. Tom [Wade] has done very well keeping the vast majority of last season's squad and I know other clubs will challenge us, like Spennymoor who have strengthened, but we have the advantages of having been together a bit longer and the fact that we know the League.
"We have a few new, quality, faces in the squad now. Getting Matty Pattison to Croft Park is unbelievable! I played with him at Gateshead and he's excellent. Then there's [Richard] Pell and [Gavin] Caines, both massively experienced lads, who I've played against so there's healthy competition for places at centre-back.
"Competition is a good thing; it means you can't afford to get complacent. Actually I played in the defensive midfield role three or four times for Gateshead so maybe there could be an opportunity for me to feature higher up the pitch."
"I'm delighted to have Budds [Buddle] re-sign, said manager Tom Wade. "He knows the club, what we're all about and what we're trying to achieve. It seems like he's been around forever but he's still a young lad who can only improve over the next few years."
