Spartans face tough Trophy tie either way - Wade

Friday, 3 July 2015

Friday morning brought news that Blyth Spartans would host either Kendal Town or Scarborough Athletic in the First Qualifying Round of this season's FA Trophy.

Spartans boss Tom Wade feels that no matter which of the two Evo-Stik NPL First Division North sides come to Croft Park, his side will face a "tough game", although he did concede that he was happy with a home draw.

"It's a tough game either way isn't it? They are two clubs who are coming back from tough times but are clearly on their way back up.

Kendal Town were relegated recently but have improved a lot since that and Scarborough are working their way back up the leagues and have momentum.

They both have good pedigree and they both had good seasons last time out. It is a home draw and I am happy about that but it is a good test for us"

The tie will take place at Croft Park on Saturday 31st October
