Spartans shirt rescues Chilean couple in Cambodia!
Monday, 10 February 2014
Last month a Blyth replica top came to the rescue of a young couple from Chile whose holiday highlight was under threat.
In the massive Angkor Wat temple deep in the Cambodian jungle the couple were about to enter the inner religious sanctum of the temple only to be turned away as women have to have their shoulders covered and the Chilean was wearing a vest top.
Fortunately for them Blyth fan Anna Wilkie was in the same queue and over heard the couple's concerns as they had travelled across the world to visit the historic venue. She happened to be carrying a Spartans shirt with her to get a photo for the club website's 'Spartans Abroad' feature. Anna immediately offered it to the young woman to borrow. She gratefully accepted the offer.
She and her partner had not heard of Blyth Spartans but promised to follow the club from afar from now on.
