Spartans Sign Conor Grant
Monday, 16 July 2012
Blyth Spartans can announce the signing of former Gretna goalkeeper Conor Grant, subject to International Clearance being obtained.
The 22-year-old has been training with the Spartans and with goalkeeping coach Carl King throughout pre-season and has impressed the coach "He's a composed 'keeper and has done well in training. He comes with a lot of experience, despite being young and I'm looking forward to working with him."
Manager Tommy Cassidy commented "Conor is a good, agile, young 'keeper and has done well in the sessions so far. We'll get a look at him in a match situation in tomorrrow night's trial game with Ashington, but with David Knight leaving, it'll be up to Conor to compete with Matty Hunter and Robert Birdsall for the number 1 jersey next season."
Welcome to the club Conor!
