Spartans Sign Four

Tuesday, 25 March 2014

With the registration deadline fast approaching Spartans manager Tom Wade has moved to bolster his squad for the run-in to the end of the season, with four new players being registered for the club.

Boris Bonket

The 22-year-old (pictured right) was signed on Friday and was included in the matchday squad for Saturday's 1-0 win away at Ilkeston Town.

The centre foward has recently relocated to the North East and has been training with the lads for a few weeks now - He has previously played for Kentish Town, Haringey Borough and Hayes & Yeading.

Fraser Nairn

Fraser, 23, is currently at Northern Alliance side Seaton Delaval and the 'keeper has impressed Tom Wade and the coaching staff in the various sessions involving both clubs.

He also has experience playing for Ryton & Crawcrook

Michael Scott

The 18-year-old right back started his career at Carlisle United, before moving onto Walker Central and then onto Seaton Delaval Amateurs where he has played this season.

Ross Phillips

Ross completes the trio of signings from Seaton Delaval.

He is a 28-year-old centre back who has also featured for the likes of Hebburn Reyrolle and Seaham Red Star.

Manager Tom Wade was pleased with the signings "Getting the lads signed means that, hopefully, we'll not caught short of numbers in the run-in towards the end of the season. We are now facing two games a week until the end of the season and due to the position that we are in in the league, everyone one of them is going to be a big game."

"We also face a number of away games, some of them midweek, so it'll be good knowing that we have these lads as back up. We have played against Seaton Delaval in training games and the like, so we know what the lads that we have signed can do."

Welcome to the club lads!
