Spartans Sign Sebastien Anzevui
Friday, 16 September 2011
Blyth Spartans can announce the signing of central midfielder Sebastien Anzevui following a stint in the US college system, subject to International Clearance being obtained.
The Swiss-born midfield man, who stands 6 feet 1 tall, was involved in the junior set ups at Sunderland and York City, before moving briefly into the non-league scene with spells at Ponteland and Whitley Bay. He then decided to take up the option to move to America on a football scholarship and has only recently returned to the UK following the completion of his studies.
Manager Steve Cuggy commented "Seb has been training with us for the last few weeks and looks a good player, he uses the ball well and can put in a tackle. He was with us for a short spell at Whitley Bay when he was a youngster, before he headed out to America and he looked a good prospect then and he has developed physically, as well as technically since then."
"We had hoped to get him some games elsewhere to get him up to speed fitness wise, but if we are short of numbers due to injury, I would have no hesitation in drafting him into the first team squad."
Welcome to the club Sebastien!
