Spartans Sign Tom Kindley

Blyth Spartans can announce the signing of highly promising young 'keeper Tom Kindley.

The 20-year-old stopper is well known to the new Spartans management duo, as he has featured in the first team at Whitley Bay on numerous occasions. The 'keeper, who stands 6 feet 3 inches tall, has also recently attracted interest from Premier League side Sunderland and manager Steve Bruce is known to be a keen admirer youngsters skills.

Assistant Manager Gavin Fell commented "We're really pleased to get Tom on board, he is an excellent goalkeeper and due to his age is only going to get better. We had him at Whitley Bay and only left because his new job, when we found out that his employment position had altered we were straight onto him to get him to Croft Park"

"He is a big lad and a second dan black belt in karate, so he can certainly look after himself - He also has fantastic distribution from his hands or from the ground and possesses all the attributes to be a top 'keeper. Many people won't have heard much about him but we see him as a real rough diamond."

"We are still talking to Dan (Lowson) and Jake (Cunningham) as well as looking at other options, but Tom will be given as much of a chance as all of them".

"I'm delighted to be signing for Blyth Spartans" stated Kindley upon signing for the Spartans "they're a really big club, with excellent tradition and I can't wait to get started. The second I knew that Cuggy and Gav had got the job here, I was straight on the phone to them."

"I'm really looking forward to pre-season and the friendlies starting, so that I can give it a real good go and show people what I can do."
