Special Guest: Run Geordie Run

Monday, 10 February 2014

We had a special guest at Croft Park on Saturday in the shape of Mark Allison (aka Run Geordie Run).

Mark has recently completed the incredible feat of running 2383 miles coast to coast across Australia in order to raise funds for the Children's Foundation and the Bobby Robson Foundation.

This follows up his runs which have taken him from Lands End to John O'Groats and 3,100 miles across the USA!

After all of that running the club felt it only right to invite Mark and his family to a match as guest of honour, so he could put his feet up and enjoy some other people running about instead of him.

The club's Media Manager Phil Castiaux was also on hand to present Mark with a Spartans shirt signed by the first team squad.

Mark's son Jack was also made 'Mascot' for the day and, alongside Club Captain Robbie Dale, led the Spartans onto the field prior to the match.
