Special guests for Witton fixture

Friday, 7 February 2014

It's a busy day on and off the pitch tomorrow as we welcome Witton Albion to Croft Park for our latest Evo-Stik Northern Premier League fixture. As a result we welcome a number of special guests who will be assured of a hearty welcome from the Green Army.

We have Blyth lad Mark Allison aka Run Geordie Run(pictured above) who we honour for his remarkable acheivement of completing a 2383 mile run across Australia to raise money for The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and The Children's Foundation. Mark and his family will be in the Sponsors Lounge and he will receive a special presentation from the club pre-match. Mark's son Jack will also lead Spartans out on to the pitch as mascot for the day.

There will be two other presentations on the pitch prior to kick off. We are delighted to welcome Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Operations Manager Alan Allcock as he presents Tom Wade with the Premier Division Team of the Month award for January.

Colin Bassam will also be on hand to present an award as Danny Parker receives the Port of Blyth Spartans Player of the Month award.

We welcome the "Coventry Spartans" to Croft Park for the twentieth time as match sponsors and we have a match ball sponsor, Mr Colin Dunn.

Last but not least we welcome our friends from Witton Albion and ahead of their trip we wish the players, coaching staff and officials a safe journey up to Northumberland.

We would like to remind everyone in attendence that we will be paying our respects to former Spartans midfielder Nigel Walker, who sadly passed away last weekend. Nigel will be remembered with a minute of applause to celebrate his life and acknowledge some wonderful memories in the green and white.
