TEAM NEWS
The FA Cup is one of the major talking points from the season 2014/15 and will live long in the memory of many Spartans supporters. The Cup makes a return and like last season, a difficult task away from home to Spennymoor Town is the first task for Blyth to negotiate. It's the first time the two clubs have competitively met since the County Durham side re-formed from Spennymoor United. The sides are bidding for a place in the draw for the 2nd Qualifying Round, which will be played on September 26th.
Blyth are currently top of the Evo-Stik Premier Division, whilst Spennymoor are third in the Evo-Stik Division North, but as everybody knows with some kind of knowledge of the Cup, league form goes out the window so the game is up for grabs. Spartans are currently on a run of only three defeats in 36, with the previous being the 3-2 defeat at home to SkyBet Championship side Birmingham City.
