TEAM NEWS
It's a long journey on the road for Blyth on Saturday as we travel to new pastures, in the form of Stourbridge. Based in the West Midlands, Spartans and The Glassboys have only ever met once before, back in 1999 at Croft Park in the FA Trophy, with a 3-0 win for the home side. Spartans' fixtures in the league are counting down as we head into mid March with 16 to be played, 8 on the road and 8 at home. Stourbridge are currently 13th in the table, only 2 points behind Blyth and in striving to reach the play offs, games like this could put a spanner in the works. A vital game awaits both sides.
Blyth have played well on the road of late, picking up points at tough opposition, including Rushall, Buxton and Ilkeston. Three points at the weekend could see us close the gap on the play off chasing sides. However we are unable to leapfrog any teams above with there being a gap of five points between us and 8th placed Barwell. Robbie Dale will be looking to get back on the scoresheet after his penalty miss against Ilkeston. From Blyth's 15 away league games played, on only 4 occasions have the team not scored.
