Blyth Spartans are delighted to learn that the manager of tomorrow's visitors Macclesfield FC, Robbie Savage, is planning to hold a bucket collection among the visiting supporters in support of our vital fundraising plans.

Savage, whose Macclesfield team last weekend clinched the three points that ensured they would arrive at Croft Park as Northern Premier League champions, said:

"We Macclesfield fans know better than most what it feels like to know your club is on the brink, and I'm confident that as we celebrate our success, our fans will dig deep to help ensure that a club with the long and famous history of Blyth Spartans lives to fight another day."
