The week in quotes

Friday, 22 May 2015

It's been a busy week for Blyth Spartans with a return for midfielder Paul Robinson and a whole host of players committing themselves to the club for the 2015/16.

Here is the best of the week in quotes from everyone involved

Paul Robinson on returning to the club from Whitley Bay:

""It is great to be back and in all honesty I should have never left this place. I am really motivated to do well and can't wait to pull on the famous green and white shirt and play in front of the Green Army again"

Tom Wade on Ryan Hutchinson committing to the club:

"We always knew Ryan would become the player he is. His progression may have been a surprise to some but to us we always knew. He is a fine centre back and his progression last season was great to see"

Alex Nicholson on signing a new contract:

"I was desperate to stay at the club because when things really got going last season, and the way we were playing, there was a really good feeling around the place"

Tom Wade on Jarrett Rivers call up to the England C squad:

"I'm delighted for Jarrett. It's a great honour for him to be selected before he turns pro at Blackpool. He's a great lad who, I'm sure, will do himself, and Blyth Spartans, proud in the game!"

Jordan Watson on returning to the club after his hernia operation:

"I feel like I have already had my summer break after my operation and I can't wait to get the all clear from the surgeon next week so I can set my mind on the start of pre-season"

Nick Thomson on agreeing a short term stay with Spartans:

"I will always be a Spartan and feel part of the club. I am excited to be part of the team and I am looking forward to working with the new keeper, whoever it is, and I will be ready to play whenever I am needed"

Matthew Wade on confirming he will stay with the club:

"I love playing for Blyth Spartans, it's my hometown club and I think we can build on what we achieved last season and get promotion"

His fellow midfielder Neal Hooks on agreeing to a seventh season at Spartans:

"There was no doubt in my mind that I would be signing anywhere else. It's an exciting time to be a part of the club and hopefully we can build upon last years success"

Captain Robbie Dale after committing to his twelfth season with the club:

"It's great to be signing again although when you say it's my twelfth season it makes me feel a bit old. Last season was great and being captain of the side when we had such a memorable season was very special"
