Tom talks - after the Frickley game
Thursday, 17 December 2015
Tom Wade hailed his team's performance at Frickley on Tuesday evening as 'fantastic'.
The Spartans came away from Yorkshire with three deserved points after a 3-2 victory.
"It was always going to be difficult playing Frickley at their place on a Tuesday after a tough game with Barwell on Saturday," he said. "It was a stop-start game with the ref frequently involved so it was hard for us to find our rhythm but the lads dug in well. At 2-2 the game was slipping away from us a bit but we showed a lot of character in coming back to win.
"Shaun Reid's goal was worthy of winning any game - a flowing move, excellent cross and clinical finish. You've got to remember as well that we got the win without both Stephen Turnbull and Damen Mullen.
"We'd targeted six points from our games against Barwell, Frickley and, this weekend's opponents, Stourbridge. We've got those six in the bag already so our aim now is to extend it to nine."
