Tom Talks | Heaton Stannington 0-6 Blyth Spartans

"We played with a great tempo, pace and control," said Blyth boss Tom Wade following his side's 6-0 win at Heaton Stannington on Wednesday.

He continued: "It was a good day all round for us on a heavy pitch. The lads worked hard and some of them who have been on the bench recently got a good 90 minutes in and showed a lot of commitment.

"Another big plus was Nipa [Daniel Maguire]. His overall play was excellent and he looked very sharp. He's regaining his match fitness which is really pleasing.

"Our goals were brilliant. Michael Richardson's long range effort was truly spectacular. He showed great control in the shot which was especially difficult to pull off when your standing foot is slipping on the wet pitch.

"I'd like to praise The Stan too. They played the game in the right way and didn't try to kick us off the park."

Wade also thanked the Blyth fans for turning up in numbers.

"Most people expected us to win so it was fantastic to see so many there from Blyth. It means they're not fair-weather supporters. All the lads really appreciate their support."
