Tom talks - after the Ramsbottom game
Thursday, 8 October 2015
"We were lucky to get a point," said Blyth boss Tom Wade after his side's 0-0 draw at Ramsbottom on Tuesday.
"We didn't play at all well," he said. "It was a very tough game for us. One of those were you just had to stick in and hopefully get something. We battled hard against a side who played like it was a cup final.
"With five of the lads travelling down late after work, cramped in a car, and the weather like a monsoon we looked jaded and tired. Although we did have chances and strangely appeared to be the stronger side in the last ten minutes and could have snatched three points.
" Fabian [Otte] had a great game for us in goal. I was very impressed with him. He stood up to be counted and kept us in the game."
Looking forward to the home fixture with Sutton Coldfield on Saturday Wade commented: "They are doing really well at the moment so it will be another test for us. I've spoken to a couple of people about them. The good thing is that we usually play better against the top sides who come to beat us rather than just to contain us.
"We're giving the lads Thursday night off to recharge their batteries so they should be raring to go at the weekend."
