Following his side's comprehensive 5-0 victory over Ramsbottom at the weekend Blyth manager Tom Wade reflected on the game, and the on the stunning performance of young striker Wilson Kneeshaw.

"We were a bit tentative early on," he said. "We weren't playing at our usual tempo and our game wasn't flowing the way we like it to. But the early goal settled us and we went on to play some good stuff on what was a heavy pitch. Some of our one touch stuff was excellent considering how 'clarty' it was out there. The pace we played with might have been down but our overall quality was still good.

"It's true we were strolling the game a bit and switched off at times to allow them a couple of chances. To be honest though, and no disrespect to Ramsbottom, we didn't really have to stretch ourselves.

"Despite scoring five we missed some good chances."

21 year old lone striker Wilson Kneeshaw bagged all five goals and his boss was obviously delighted.

"Wilson isn't used to playing up there by himself," Wade said. "He's always played alongside another striker or on the wing. But on Saturday he could have scored ten! He was unplayable. He's a great talent with unbelievable pace and he occupied the Ramsbottom defence expertly.

"It was such an impressive display by Wilson including the way he scored; the way he finished. He needed to control the balls which came in to him with pace; they weren't simple tap-ins.

"He's a young lad with a bright future."
