Tom Talks | After the Rushall game

Wednesday, 20 April 2016

Blyth manager Tom Wade was delighted with the way his side approached the Rushall game on Tuesday evening.

"I thought we played with freedom, "he said. "We had a chat before the match saying that we couldn't do much more than keep on going, get out there and enjoy it and I thought we looked like we did at the start of the season.

"Rushall were pretty direct but at least they did go forward which gave us chances to get at them. I've never seen a goalkeeper strike the ball so often and so far. We competed with them physically and our midfield held us together, protecting the back four and allowing the strikers to get in to the game.

"If it's a case of the play-offs then we are an attacking side and that will suit us in one-off games. The club records we've set this season says it all and it's great to have scored five goals and kept two clean sheets in the last two games. Plus our attitude is excellent; it's all positive. We'll get the lads relaxed in training, ready to go again."
