Tom talks - after the Skelmersdale game
Monday, 23 November 2015
"We bossed the game yet came away with nothing, "said Blyth manager Tom Wade following his side's 2-1 defeat at Skelmersdale United on Saturday.
He continued: "We had so much of the ball and we should really have put Skelmersdale out of sight after going one up. We had the chances but didn't take them.
"Skelmersdale aren't a bad side but we should have done better. It took us 15 minutes to get going. The heavy pitch meant we couldn't get our fast passing game going with the ball not really travelling but we've learned some lessons from that for future games. It's a matter of horses for courses.
"We should have cleared the corner from which they equalised. The lad had a free header. Mind, their second goal was a cracker.
"We showed lots of endeavour and couldn't have worked any harder but when you don't score goals you've got problems."
