Tom Talks | After two away wins…

Friday, 8 April 2016

Blyth manager Tom Wade reflected on two important wins in the last week.

"We did well at Ilkeston and Hyde over the past few days, "he said. "Our shape returned and we had players back from injury but we are still getting there. At Ilkeston our superior fitness told in a helter-skelter game. That's something we take pride in but we made more mistakes in that game than in any other match this season.

"At Hyde on Monday the score line flattered us but over those two games I was very happy with the outcome. Robbie Dale has been outstanding, Sean Reid has found his form, Andrew Cartwright has done well and Matty Wade and Damen Mullen have been extremely solid while Paul Robinson did well too. We're using the squad we have. Everyone is in this together. We have a never-say-die attitude."

In terms of the League championship Wade was phlegmatic.

"If we don't get automatic promotion, we don't. Just getting in to the play-offs is a huge achievement. There is a bright future at Blyth if we can keep these players together."
