Tom Talks | Seaton Delaval 0-5 Spartans (training game)

Wednesday, 6 July 2016

Following Blyth's training game at Seaton Delaval on Tuesday evening manager Tom Wade commented: "We've been ticking over up to now so this was the start of our pre-season really. It was a useful exercise in terms of players developing a work ethic and getting lots of touches of the ball. The new players did exceptionally well and it was a good get together by way of everyone getting to know each other."

Blyth won the game 5-0 with goals from Matty Pattison, Sean Reid, Daniel Maguire, Michael Richardson and Luke Armstrong.

Tom, looking ahead to this weekend, said: "Saturday's match at home to Gateshead will be a different world really. They've signed almost a full new squad of exceptional footballers. They are ahead of us in terms of pre-season and we won't have anywhere like as much of the ball as we did on Tuesday. But we'll try and keep our shape and work hard. Make no mistake, it will be a massive test
