Turnbull signs new Spartans contract

Popular midfielder Stephen Turnbull has signed a new deal at Blyth Spartans
The former Hartlepool United man is in his third spell at Croft Park and arguably had his best season with the club last time out. After re-joining Spartans in September Turnbull went on to have an extraordinary season that included the memorable free kick that got Spartans back on level terms in the FA Cup Second Round tie at his former club, Hartlepool United.
The season was topped off nicely for Turnbull as he was honoured by opposing Evo-Stik Northern Premier League managers by being named in the League Team of the Year, alongside team mate Robbie Dale.
Tom Wade paid tribute to the impact made by a player he described as "vital".
"You can't doubt the attitude and quality that Stephen has. He made a massive impact as soon as he came back to the club and to be honest I didn't expect anything else. He is vital to us and although people will point to his free kick at Hartlepool I think you just appreciate what he did throughout the whole season on a consistent basis"
