Win was well deserved says Mason

Spartans winger Lee Mason continued his comeback from injury in the 3-1 win at Whitby Town today and believes that the effort and determination shown by his team-mates was enough to deserve the win. The former Hartlepool United man said "It was a great win in my opinion, we deserved it in the end with the way we worked as a team, battled as a team and it's a great three points to come away with after Saturday's defeat".
A hamstring injury suffered in the pre-season fixture at Sunderland RCA have hampered Mason's preparations for the season but the winger is starting to see light at the end of the tunnel as he strives for full fitness. He said "Yes, today is more minutes under my belt and I have to be happy with that. I've lasted longer than I have so far and it's starting to feel stronger, I was pleased." However there was caution shown by Mason when he spoke of the injury. "It's tight after every game and you never know how it will react but it's getting stronger and Susan is looking after it so hopefully it'll only get stronger".
